Principles of Pilates

This course introduces the principles of Pilates, basic anatomy, physiology and theory. Develop your skills in postural analysis and stability assessment. This, or equivalent, is the necessary precursor to entering the Mat and Reformer courses.

 Course duration - 2 days.
This course is run twice annually.

Mat Pilates Level 1

This course runs for two consecutive weekends.

Every good Pilates programme needs to begin with a strong foundation in mat work. The Stability Plus Pilates course helps build excellent sequencing of exercises. We teach how to rehab all kinds of injuries with an experienced physiotherapist and master Pilates instructor. You will learn how to cue properly to get the best out of your clients.  Pilates is an excellent tool for rehabilitation, general fitness and core strengthening.

Course duration - 4 days

This course is run twice annually and will be repeated in August

Pre and Post Natal Pilates

The pre and post natal Pilates course develops your understanding of how your pre and post natal client can benefit from Pilates. This course details the many changes and issues that can arise during pregnancy and after. Core strength, posture and flexibility will be a focal point. Participants are given an extensive range of exercises suitable for your pre and post natal client.

Reformer Level 1

The reformer is an essential staple of any Pilates studio and many physiotherapy clinics now also acknowledge the huge benefit these machines can offer clients. This course provides information on the components of a reformer and how to use a reformer safely and effectively. Participants are taught an extensive array of exercises and how to adapt the exercises to suit your client, whether beginner or advanced.

Mat Pilates Instructor Exam

The Mat Exam will consist of a 1 hour multi-choice and a 1 hour short answer exam testing your knowledge of: anatomy, physiology and theory. Students will also undertake a 1/2 hour practical exam where they will be tested to the level of training achieved.
